Seasons Greetings Sugar Cookies

  • 2/3 cups Gold ’n Soft® Vegetable Oil Spread
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

In a large mixing bowl, beat Gold ’n Soft® Vegetable Oil Spread with a mixer at medium speed until light and fluffy.

Add 1 cup of the flour, baking powder, sugar, egg, milk, and vanilla.

Mix until thoroughly combined, scraping the sides of the bowl occasionally.

Stir in remaining 1 cup of flour. Divide the dough in half.

Cover and chill for 1 or 2 hours or until easy to handle. Dough may be chilled overnight and removed from the refrigerator 1 hour before rolling.

Preheat oven to 375º F.

On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough to1/8 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes. Place 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake for 7 to 9 minutes or until the edges are firm and the bottoms are slightly browned.

Remove the cookies and cool on a rack. Frost and decorate.

Note: Instead of frosting, cookies may be sprinkled with colored sugar or candies prior to baking.
